A native of southern California, Dr. Appley earned his B.A., Cum Laude, from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA and his MD from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He did his neurosurgical residency at LA County/USC Medical Center. He is a clinical assistant professor of Neurosurgery at Tulane University School of Medicine. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Neurological Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, American Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery the North American Spine Society, the American Medical Association, Louisiana State Medical Society and Lafayette Parish Medical Society.
