Dr. Mitchell earned his B. A. in biology at the University of Texas in Austin and his MD from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, where he also completed both his internship in Internal Medicine and his residency in Anesthesiology. He also completed a fellowship in obstetrical anesthesia at the UT Health Science Center. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology and is board certified in Pain Management. Dr. Mitchell is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Medical Association, Louisiana Society of Anesthesia and the Lafayette Parish Medical Society. He has practiced in Louisiana since 1991.
Dr. Mitchell is one of Lafayette Surgical Specialty Hospital's Physician Owners.
