JOSEPH T. GILLESPIE, MD - A native of Opelousas, Dr. Gillespie graduated from Creighton University in Omaha, NE, was a post Baccalaureate Research Associate at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and was awarded his MD from LSU School of Medicine. He is a resident in anesthesiology with a chronic pain subspecialty track from Charity Hospital in New Orleans. He is a member of the American Academy of Pain Medicine, American Academy of Pain Management, North American Spine Society, International Headache Society, Society for Pain Practice Management, Louisiana State Medical Society and Lafayette Parish Medical Society.
MATTHEW C. MITCHELL, MD - Dr. Mitchell earned his B. A. in biology at the University of Texas in Austin and his MD from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, where he also completed both his internship in Internal Medicine and his residency in Anesthesiology. He also completed a fellowship in obstetrical anesthesia at the UT Health Science Center. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology and is board certified in Pain Management. Dr. Mitchell is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Medical Association, Louisiana Society of Anesthesia and the Lafayette Parish Medical Society. He has practiced in Louisiana since 1991.
AMARENDAR KASARLA, MD - Dr. Kasarla earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at Kakatiya Medical College in Warangal, India. During his internship, he completed rotations in internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, emergency medicine, family practice, obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Kasarla served as casualty medical officer while a resident in the department of emergency services at Medwin Hospital in Hyderabad, India. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology, a member of the American Board of Pain Medicine, the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians and the Lafayette Parish Medical Society. He has practiced in Louisiana since 2000.
STEVEN K. STAIRES, MD - Dr. Staires graduated from LSU Medical School in New Orleans. After two years of residency in General Surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, he completed his training in Anesthesiology at LSU/Charity in New Orleans. He also completed a one-year fellowship in pain management at West Virginia University, Morgantown. He is board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine and is a member in good standing of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Academy of Pain Medicine, International Spinal Injection Society and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. He has practiced continuously in Lafayette since 1986.
